  • Remote Desktop User Profile & Home folder

I need to configure Profile path & Home folder for remote desktop users on windows server 2008 R2. This is a local server not domain joined.

I install remote desktop service role on this machine.
Then I enable remote desktop services user home directory from following path:

    Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Profiles

I also configure remote desktop service profile.

But it doesn't working. Remote user connect with default profile with full access.
I need to set User Profile & Home folder for remote desktop users so that remote user see only one Home folder & he should not have access to computer all drives.

    Did i miss something ?
    kindly help me.

    I need help.
Can't find the solution on the internet.
Remote users should only view one home folder & no other folders. They should not have access to all computer drives.

Anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong ?

You are bumping your post after all of 2 hours - if you need support on that timescale, contact Microsoft, who accept all major credit cards.

Otherwise kindly have some patience and wait for people to give up their free time to answer you.

I haven't ever tried TS profiles on a non domain member, but can't see anything wrong with your approach

Re: Remote Desktop User Profile & Home folder

User Profile & Home folder issue resolved.

The remote desktop user can view my computer & all local drives.
Is there any way that remote desktop users can't view all local drives without folder permission.
Can I do this with group policy or something else.?
