  • Error when running windows server backup

I have been using the Windows Server Backup that comes with Windows Server 2008 R2 and running a scheduled data backup every night. When I check the activity log the backup show 'Completed with warning' and the error

'Error in backup of E:\ during read: Error [0x80070057] The parameter is incorrect'

I am backing up to an external USB Drive. Could anyone explain what this error means and how it fix it?

    Google results

Do you have an open file when backing up?
    1 1 was a racehorse.
    2 2 was 1 2.
    1 1 1 1 race 1 day,
    2 2 1 1 2

Re: Error when running windows server backup

I don't think there are any files open when the scheduled backup runs as it starts at 23:00 but I will check that everything is closed that is backed up though I'd expect it to mention that in the logs if there are. The E drive where all files are stored is a partition of two physical 600GB SAS HDD's on a mirrored RAID. I have had no problems with this backup before.
