  • Rolling Back an AD Account

Is it possible to actually roll back an Active Directory users account? We had a piece of software actually overwrite one of our Administration accounts, it completely created a new user with the same name but obliterated the domain account.

Any help would be appreciated, we tried going into the registry and actually changing account path in the ProfileLists but this didn't quite work as expected.

    Thank you

Hi please correct me if i not understand u
you said that accidentally deleted administrator user ?
if yes you can restore object using authoritative restore
in server 2008R2 you have container name "tombstone " and all users that you deleted the attribute of user changed from "isdeleted" to " TRUE" and users saved 160 days back

Meirp, OP said the installed software OVERWROTE the Admin account. It was not accidently deleted. (Really bad software if it will do that)
