  • Robocopy /Copyall does not copy permissions

I am trying to copy a folder from one location to another, with the following two commands, but each time the folder at the destination server inherits permissions of its parent, rather than retaining its original permissions.

    Code:
    robocopy \\server01\Test \\server02\share1\test /e /copyall
    Code:
    robocopy \\server01\Test \\server02\share1\test /e /copy:datsou
But each time Test ends up inheriting the permissions of Share1 on Server02.
The only way I can make it retain its permissions is by adding the /B switch

    Code:
    robocopy \\server01\Test \\server02\share1\test /e /copy:datsou /b
Does anyone know what the reason behind this is? Isn't /copyall supposed to copy NTFS permissions? Why do I have to add the /b switch for the permissions to be retained?
Working...
