  • Using Active Directory Integrated Zones with Public DNS

Basically the same question posted here a few years ago:
For some reason I can't post the whole URL to the thread

I however, AM a hosting provider for roughly 20-30 domains. I would like to use AD-Integrated instead of standalone zones. When you create new zones that are AD-Integrated it adds the dc.domain.local onto the name servers. I can PREVENT that using the following:

To disable NS resource record registration using the Windows interface
    1. Open Registry Editor.
    2. In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\DNS\Parameters
    3. Add the following REG_DWORD value:
    4. Assign a value of 0x1.
The REG_DWORD value is a local DNS server setting, and it applies to DNS zones for which this DNS server is authoritative.
Taken from TechNet, however it deletes all entries from domain.local as well. Any ideas? I can't be the first person who wants to use AD-Integrated for a hosting solution.
