  • 2003 servers cannot see 2008R2 servers in My network places

I have a site with four servers. It was orinally three Windows 2003 servers.

    Server1 Windows Server 2003 (DC)
    Server2 Windows Server 2003
    Server3 Windows Server 2003

Server 2 died and was replaced with a 2008R2 server running Serevr 2003 in a hyper v session

Server1 started dying and a news server01 was added

    Server1 Windows Server 2003
    Server01 Windows Server 2008R2 (DC)
    Server2 Windows Server 2008R2
(Server2v Windows Server 2003 in a virtual session)
    Server3 Windows Server 2003

If you go into My Network Places on any 2003 server you cannot see Server2 (2008R2) even the hyperV one but Server01 2008R2 is visible.

    On any server 2003
    I can ping it
I can net share to it
I can even resolve it using nslookup

The firewalls are all off (I sit behind a Juniper)
I have all the network discoveries

I have installed a WINS server and its there
I have modified the registry to force smb1

The only thing I seem to remember is the LLTD rresponder.

    Update.

I have been chasing everything as there are two 2008R2 servers, When I do a IPCONFIG /all one has Netbios over TCPIP enabled and the other one is disabled. No matter what settings I set on the wins page of the network card properties it stays disabled. Any ideas if there is a registry entry or GP stopping this. Its not the DC or wins or DNS server.
