  • Large Volumes on server

    Hi Guys.

Has anyone here had any issues with large volumes sizes on Server 2008 R2......... The reason I ask is I'm about to add a SAS SAN to a Server, the SAN will be hosting a single volume of 10TB(raid 5 using 6 * 2TB disks). The Sever will Format this 10TB SAN Volume with NTFS as a single volume for Archiving of data... i.e "F:" in WINDOWS EXPLORER.

Should I initizalize this disk MBR or GPT, will this size of volume cause any issue with SHADOW COPY?.

    Kind Regards

You will need to use GPT if you want to use more than 2TB of the drive. Shadow copy will function fine.
