  • NPS authorisation

    Hi all,

I need to solve one think. I have got dlink switches that suppots 802.1x Port base and Mac Based. I have it configured for domain computers. It works perfect. But I have in my network VOIP phones alcatel. Some of thme doesnt support 802.1x. I have configured VOIP vlan on these witches so phones are automatically members of that VLAN. It depends on their MAC addresses. I would like to know if NPS (windows 2008 R2) support authorrisation based on MACs? for example MACs begining 00:80:9F belong to VOIP vlan and is authorised...

    Thanks.
    Thanks

    Re: NPS authorisation

If I remember correct, mac bypass was part of the md5 authentication. For security reasons that has been removed. There are some guides on the net to restore md5.
Can't you create a default vlan if authentication failed, and filter out voip on the firewall?
