    Local Policy

I have setup a GPO to change a Local Audit Policy ( Audit object access)

After I run a gpupdate /force against the server (windows 2008 R2) the local policy does not apply. It comes up with an error message saying

“This setting might not be enforced if other policy is configured to override category level audit policy”

Has anyone else come across this issue ? If so how did you resolve it.

    Any help much appreciated.

I think all it is saying is that (any) group policy will override the same setting in a local policy

IMHO ignore unless you have an issue

Gpo's are applied at different levels and local GPO's are applied first.
Any group policy applied after the local policy is applied will win if there are the conflicting settings.

GPO'S are applied in the following order.

      L ocal
      S ite
      D Domain
      OU Organizational Unit
