Windows Server 2008 R2 only comes in 64 bit (x64) editions. There is no 32 bit (x86) edition of Windows Server 2008 R2.

And to add to that, the majority of "server applications" (Exchange, SharePoint, SQL) no longer come in 32 bit versions.
Why the need for a 32-bit version?

If you want to be picky x86 is the architecture so can come in x16, x32 and x64 bits.

So the answer really would be here:

With the memory limitations on 32bit versions, why wouldn't you want to finally move to x64 editions of the OS and applications?

Hyper-V may be able to solve your query.

              Absolute rubbish!

HyperV will allow you to install virtual machines on a Server2008 or R2 host but will not help someone run a non-existant OS (Server 2008 R2 32 bit)
