  • Restore data - restore catalog

    Hi
Backing up data from Server 2008 via a WBADMIN Script.
Backing up to a folder Named \\NAS-Server\Terminal\data1

Backup seem OK, and is seen in the BackUp GUI

Trying to restore a folder after diskbreakdown, I can't get the data restored.
    Can't get the Catalog restored.

Must WindowsImageBackup lie on the root of this backup disk.
Pretty burning issue - has anybody got the time to help ???

    Yours Peter H

Well - got on my knee's, paid Microsoft a Support fee, and is now a wiser man

You can carry any WindowsImageBackUp to a Windows 7 Computer, and in Manage Computer RigtClick on DiskMangement and Use Attach VirtuelDisk.

Now navigate to the ImageBackup and connect to (one of) the VHD-file(s)
Now you can browse freely in the backup and copy whatever you like to anywhere

Well - i was on the phone with the Microsoft guy from 9 to 4 a clock trying all kind'a stuff.
In the end he suggested, what I shoved up here - and Voila, in minutes I had checked out all 4 backups and chosen the right one.
Why didn't he telle me this straight away ?

Well - this just in case, that not everybody knew this allready ?
