  • Cross Domain DFS?

I have two domains in different sites in the same forest, and i have read that I can replicate dfs between two domains as long as they are in the same forest. Whenever I try and add the remote \\server\share to the replication group I get:

"\\REMOTESERVER\SHARE" Information about the shared folder cannot be retrieved. Access is denied"

I have admin accounts from both domains added with full rights to the share and full rights on the folder on both servers.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong.

Figured this out, this is due to the child domain FS being on Server 2003 STD, not R2.

Thanks for letting us know. You may find tht just doing the Domainprep for 2003 R2 is enough and may not actually have to upgrade the DC to 2003 R2.

Do you mean 2008 R2? I have just noticed that you have posted in the 2008 forum.
