  • Enabling disk quotas

    What happens to the data in a folder that exceeds the quota limit when I switch from soft quota to hard quota? I have a file share server and we've got soft quotas in place and we are ready to upgrade them to hard quotas, but we don't know what happens to the folders that currently exceed the quota limit. We do have a small number of such cases.

    They should be write blocked until files are moved/deleted to take them below the quota.

    Nothing will be automatically deleted if thats what you're worried about
