  • Force forget administrator username after restart client

    Hello,
I have somewhat funny problem. I work in school and have W2008r2 domain.
I connect to hosts mostly via Remote Desktop since we have two separated buildings.
Anyhow, some of the school staff really have difficulties understanding login to domain procedures, such as changing username, typing DOMAINNAME\User (win7) etc...
The thing is, I was wondering if there is a way in AD to somehow force client to forget last login from me as administrator, so after computer is restarted, default username for the staff member will be on screen so they should only type their password in order to log in.
By the way, I'm sorry if my english is funny, since it's not my native language.
    Thanks,
    Kabir

I know there used to be a GPO option that said, basically "do not display last logon name"

Whether this is still a valid option for w7, I'm not sure.. but you could look
It was under security options somewhere

By the way, if it's also possible after log off, it could work too.

I've tried to look for it, but didn't know how to actually describe it. That must be it. Will try it out, thanks

          Found it.

Computer Configuration > Windows settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options >

Interactive logon: Do not display last user name.

          Thanks

btw, this just came to my mind.. by "Last" user name is it considered only single logon or more of them with a single username? I mean, does it mean it will only forget first time i log in as administrator, or as many times as long as it's same username?

It will not display a user name when someone presses CTRL+ALT+DEL
Doesnt matter how many times someone logs on (or who logs on) - a name will always need to be entered.
