    Hi Guys,
So my site is looking to upgrade to Server 2008. I already have a 2008 app server thats doing very little. Before i look at rolling it out on a large scale i was wondering if anyone has any best practise tips on the build, For example:

Is there anything done to increase performance? (Moving certain logs).
Is there (Obviously server role dependant) services that can be shut off?
    Anything to look out for?

Basically i want to build an install guide so all machines are set up the same however i dont want to get 50 servers down the line to figure out that for performance i need to change a setting and have to back track.

    Any advise is appreciated.

Main advice is to generate performance baselines to see how it is working at the moment, then look in future for changes

Because we don't know anything about your current server, it is difficult to suggest what to change, but IMHO, go with the old adage "If it ain't broke.....don't fix it"
