  • Expired passwords Server 2008 + proxy server

    Hi,

We have a mixture of Remote Desktop servers, some running 2k8 others running 2k3. We are using Symantec's Client Site Proxy as our web proxy, which uses NTLMv2 authentication.

I have come across an issue on 2 of our 2k8 servers where a user's password expires in the middle of an active session. Both were configured around the same time and are the newest servers in our environment.

When this happens, users are still able to connect to our Exchange Server, access our shares etc but when they try to browse the web in IE8, they get a prompt to enter their user credentials. The only way around this is to change the user password to a new one, and then they are able to browse the web.

This does not happen on our other 2k8 remote server, nor does it happen on any of our 2k3 servers so there must be a setting that I'm missing. Has anyone got a clue as to what may be causing this?

Our domain forest functional level is 2000 by the way.

Where does it get the usernames and password? Can it see DC? seems a bit
network problem or Symantec. Symantec has got good support if you raise a ticket with them.
