  • Event logs for File deletion and Creation

    i wants to know how do i know about file creation and deletion information on File server.actually in my company we have windows 2008 server setup and we run file server on it we face issue that few on user delete folder and file on it now i want to trace it who did this and when so please i need u guys help please let me know i do i know that.

    audit object access and spend some time studying / testing.

    Note this is not psychic so will only log events after it has been set up -- for previous deletions, there is no way of identifying who did it

        file access auditing (which is what you need, as pointed out by Ossian) generates ALOT of security logging.
        So when you turn this one, you're going to need a way to manage your audit logs.. and someone to go through them.
