  • Adding 2008R2 DC to existing domain

Hi, This is my first post here.
I want to add one 2008R2DC to current domain.
    Here is current domain servers
    Server1 (DC) - 2008Std
    Server2 (DC) - 2008Std
    Server3 (DC) - 2008Std
    Server4 - RODC (site 2)

Domain and Forest functional level are both windows2003. Should I need to run forestprep, and domainprep again before I install 2008R2 DC?

    Thanks

    Yes!
Run ADPREP (with assorted switches) on your existing DC (schema master)
ADPREP is on the 2008R2 media and you have both 32 and 64 bit versions available

Note since you have 2008 DC2 already, you are half way upgraded but still need to move from 2008 to R2
