  • Windows 2008 R2 with Storageworks p2000

    Hello All,

I have been trying to figure out a problem with Windows 2008 R2 and an HP Storageworks MSA P2000 FC SAN.

The 2008R2 server would not see the volumes I was presenting from the SAN until I changed my LUN number from 401 to 7. Three 1st level HP Techs (all terrible btw - once again...thanks for outsourcing support to under-trained people ) and two 2nd level techs could only point to how the switches were zoned etc etc ad nauseum.

Bottom line: Changed the LUN from 401 to 7 and the volume popped up just like it was supposed to. Ran 'mpclaim -r -i -a' and after the reboot all was fine.

HP says there is a limitation in Windows 2008 R2 to the LUN number but can't refer me to anything concrete. I can't find any documentation from M$oft or HP that discuss this issue.

Has anyone else heard of this?
