  • Help with Terminal Service Issue

I am not sure how to go about achieving the following on a 2008 terminal server.

Server is 2008 R2 std running terminal serverices. When users log on they can view the local drives of the server.

Could someone please advise me how to go about setting it up so terminal users do not see any of the local drives on the server as well as certain program groups. They cannot run certain admin applications because they don't have permission so I'm not too worried about the program groups but disabling viewing of the local hard drives through my computer is important.

    Thanks for your help.

Re: Help with Terminal Service Issue

Apply Group Policy on the Terminal Server (locally) or using AD.
and under 'User Configuration --- Administrative Templates--- Windows Components--- Windows Explorer' enable "Prevent Access to Drives from my Computer" and "Hide These Specified Drives in My Computer" . and in the last open the command prompt and type gpupdate /force and press enter.
