  • MS Identity Mgmt for UNIX password sync encryption woes

    Hello,

I have MS Identity Management for UNIX running on my 2008 R2 DC's. We have this set up to sync Windows password changes down to our UNIX/Linux boxes that use NIS. I'm running into an issue and it looks like when the new password is synced it is coming down as MD5 encrypted. We run older Solaris and linux boxes that require it to be DES encryption. MD5 is NOT supported on our Solaris 8 machines and we can't upgrade them

Is there a way to get the password synchronization from 2008 to the 'nix machines to come down as DES encrypted?

I don't have the server for NIS role installed as I don't want to use our Windows boxes as a NIS master and the NIS domain is different than our Windows domain.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
