  • Accessing 2008 R2 from Win95

    Hi ,

I was wondering if it was possible to access a shared 2008 R2 folder from win 95 .

I tried to change the ntlm and many other things but unsuccessfully.

    Any suggestions ?

    Thank you .

I have edited your title as it appeared you were accessing Win95 from R2 not the other way around

The answer is basically NO since security was tightened a lot in Server 2003 and above

This may help you do it but you are warned about making your system a wide open target:

ygal, my commiserations on still having to support a 16 year old operating system.

Instead of messing up with security settings, set up a sftp server on to the 2008 box and use it for file transfers. Sftp is secure and there still ought to be clients, albeit old versions for Win95.
