    Hi,

    We are using a network printer (HP Laserjet M1213) , IP Base Printer. We want to monitor our printer usage. Does any free software available in market , where we can gather details of every print taken from our network users and at the day end we can get the report , from which user , how many number of prints coming out.

    I come to know about papercut software but its a 5 user free version and we have about 200 users in office.

    As always, you get what you pay for, and if controlling print costs is really an issue, you will be best to buy some product that gives you the control you want. If you REALLY want a free solution, you could probably do something with auditing and some powershell or excel to analyse the security log on your print server.

      Set up the printer on a network server as a shared printer queue from the server. This can be achieved by installing the printer on the server and setting it up as a shared printer object on the network, then having your machines access that shared printer queue over the network as a shared printer from that network server.

      Once the printer is used via a server, you can turn on printer auditing for a view of who's doing what and when. See this article for more info:
