  • Server 2008 FSRM

    Hi all.

I have an old file server that is running storage exec that I want to replace.

I have hardware in place for a new 2008 server and am thinking of using FSRM instead of storage exec to set quota's and permitted files (as the support and upgrades has long expired).

I experimented with FSRM on the old 2003 server and found it slowed access down quite a bit. Has anyone used FSRM on 2008? Is it reliable?

    Thanks in advance

    Reliable, yes, very
Slows things down, depends on how much data you have but not to a noticable extent (IMHO). Reporting can be slow hence the need to schedule reports to run out of hours.
