    Hello,

When trying to create a hash rule for an .exe file I get the error "____ is not a valid Win32 application. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800700C1)

I looked this up and it seems to have to do with the fact that it is not signed by a publisher. But wouldn't the fact that it isn't signed by a publisher be a reason to have it blocked?

If someone could help me out on this it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Have you seen this article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2749690

It says what you would expect - use another exe that conforms or work with the vendor.

Thank you for your response. Yes I have seen that article. Where I am stuck is how am I supposed to resolve this. I don't want to use another exe because that would defeat the purpose. I am trying to block an undesired standalone applications that requires no installation or admin approval to run. Its a downloaded standalone executable.that I need to block.
