  • Secure only Dynamic DNS update don't work

Hi All, Domain Controller - Windows Server 2008 R2 , it is also DNS Server but i have DHCP Server configured on Switch, which gives ip address to all Domain member computer.
Here, problem is Secure only Dynamic DNS update don't work, but when i keep Nonsecure and Secure Dynamic updates than it work properly.

Please tell me whether i have to register DHCP Server ip address in Active Directory Integrated Zone. If yes, than how can i register because my DHCP server is L3 Switch.

    Regards,

Check the account used by DHCP to write the DNS records has the right to do so

That is a known issue, fixed by adding the DHCP server account to the DNSUpdateProxy group in AD.

But DHCP is being provided by the "switch" (router?) so won't have an account in AD
