    Hi all,

Our custommer runs Windows 2008 terminal server with about 20 concurrent users, with roaming profiles. The performance of Office 2007 with SP 2 is very poor. Switching between Outlook Exel and word takes a lot of time, about 7 to 10 seconds.

The server is a Dell with a raid 10 disk configuration, 16 GB of memory.
Gigabit network between terminalserver and domain controller and Exchange server. ( Windows 2003 SBS )
The memory usage is about 7 GB. No heavy disk fragmentation and.

I suspect that Office SP2 is the bottleneck. Does some have some tips for me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Marcel

    Re: Performance

I would make sure that this was the case.

Run some performance monitoring, even open task manager at a full load and see what is using CPU and/or memory.

You need to find the bottleneck first.

There is a good whitepaper from microsoft, I know it is for 2003 64 bit, but it may give you some insight.

What CPU(s) do you have in the server?

Hi BSV, that's a bit random.

How is your task manager looking?

            Re: Performance

            The task manager looks good.
A bit strange is that the pagefile use is 5,8 GB...

Problems are after installing windows updates, and update SP2 for Office 2007/

            Office is 32 bit.
            Windows 2008 is 64 bit.
