This is from a closed posting by tfitzgerald on September 2008:
“Hello all! I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with xcacls.vbs for setting folder permissions and Windows Server 2008.

I have a script that I used to add new students to our AD. It creates their accounts and sets up their home folders, however it seems that since our switch to 2008 this summer, the permissions are not being set.

I did a search on Google about any compatibility issues but did not find anything useful. I also searched the Windows 2008 section of the forums and did not find any previous posts about this issue.

Any help would be much appreciated!

nevermind! Figured it out. Had to edit the xcacls.vbs.

Had to search for the IsOsSupported() function and add "6.0" to the list

adds users and groups, sets the permissions, but seems to get the inheritance wrong.

I'll have to mess with it some to see if I can get it to work the same as it did in 2003.

My question is regarding inheritance. Teddy, you said it seems to get the inheritance wrong. I am having the exact same problem. Were you able to get this problem fixed? If so, please let me know how to fix. Thanks!
