  • Server 2008 Backup Query

Presently engaged in a Server 2008 training exercise which requires a backup task with witch I am not familiar. I must do the following:

    1. Switch to NYC-DC and back up SYSVOL to the local drive as a VSS full backup by using the Backup Once Wizard from the Windows Server Backup tool.
    2. Switch to LON-DC and delete the Management OU by using the Active Directory Users and Computers tool.
Task 4: Switch to NYC-DC and recover the Active Directory database from the existing backup by using Windows Server Backup.

I located the backup console and the backup once wizard. Cannot locate sysvol. Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

You will need to find the folder containing your AD installation and backup the volume it is on

Since it is a MS training exercise, almost certainly the default c:\windows\ntds
