  • Global Catalogue and Infrastructure Master

I have read the following lines many times
The Infrastructure Master should not be placed on a GC.

If i am not wrong; A DC (only one) in a forest holds both GC and IM role.

Anyone can tell about this in detail; the IM should not be placed on a GC, where it is applicable?

    regards
    Raneesh

Good review on the main site

Roughly, it doesnt matter provided there is only one domain in the forest or if all DCs are GCs

It depends a bit about the size of your network, the number of users you have and how many dc's you got.

I had to find out about this recently, and the best explanation I found was here:

A recent poll suggests that 6 out of 7 dwarfs are not happy
