  • VPN Setup

I have looked over few documents, but i am still confused. I have a small company who needs to have vpn setup for their users.

    current setup:
Domain Controller for, with dns, dhcp and the works.

The connection is ATT DSL service with their guffy w2ire router/wireless gateway.

The compnay has also purchased an ASA5505 firewall.

I think i have a good understanding of how to setup ASA, but where i get confused is, i have never setup VPN server before and i dont have clue where and how to start.

    thank you

    Re: VPN Setup

What are you using as the VPN endpoint? If it's the ASA (Dunno if it supports VPN?) then you'd be better served in the Cisco forums.

If you are planning to use Windows Server then you need to setup Routing and Remote Access (RRAS). This Technet Guide should help. You'll need to allow port 1723 and Protocol 47 (GRE Packets) through the ASA for PPTP VPNs.
