  • W2K8 WSRM restrict memory to app

    Hi

I have a Windows 2008 Std 64-bit TS server. I have 6 Gb of RAM. 15 users logging into this machine. The users are all running access applications. My memory is running too high. (5Gb).

I wanted to restrict MSaccess to consume all memory via WSRM.

I created a process matching criteria for access and a resource alloction policy with the following settings:
Use maximum working set limit for each process: 40Mb

Still memory allocation for MSaccess did not change. Missing something?

    Regards

    Bert

    Bert,

Have you tried using the "application" setting in the "add rule" for your process matching criteria?

      Yes

Application was marked referring to the msaccess.exe. I have read in some articles that you can regulate CPU via WSRM but not memory. Memory will not be restricted, only an event will be logged when memory is reaching it's "policy" limit. Too bad. If someone has better experience regulating memory pls be so kind to share the knowledge .
