  • reinstalled and now cert is invalid!

Ok, I really don't understand the entire concept of certs no do a want too!!

I bought a cert via godaddy.com when we were testing SBS 2008 out. I was able to install this and work our OWA via https://remote.domain.com just fine.

Now I've reinstalled SBS 2008 for a "go live" system, tried to reinstall the cert we bought and it states it's invalid.

Please don't tell me I have to buy another due to a system config change? Obviously a new key has been generated that does match up now.

Is there a way with my cert provider to reissue (so go look there) or am I missing something on the server side?

    thanks.

    What is the error message?
Does the certificate includes the private key?

I figured it out this morning. Apparently any time a reinstall occurs you have to RE-KEY the cert. So you must have the wizard reissue a new string, then in GODADDYS interface it will instantly reissue the cert (RE-KEY) and we are back up in running.

GODADDY explained this well, but Microsoft and my SBS2008 books get a "F".
