  • MSTSC Issue

    Hi Friends

We are using 64-bit edition of Windows 2008 enterprise R2 server. Remote desktop are enable in this server. I can take the session of my server remotely without any problem. But my problem is when another user take the remote of this server with same user ID (Administrator) my session logoff.

In windows 2003 server we can take the 2 session of remote with same user, but in Windows 2K8 it logoff the previous one.

Please help me how can i enable 2 session of remote with same user in windows 2k8.

    Thanks
    Atp

    Re: MSTSC Issue

Why not using different accounts? That would at least solve it.
I'd believe it's by design and if not it should be

      Re: MSTSC Issue

      Hi Dumber

Thanks for the reply, but after seraching WEB i have find a solution to disable the this option "restrict user to single session". Below are the steps.

Start - Run - Type "tsconfig.msc" and press enter

On the right side of windows you will se a option - Restrict each user to single session - Yes

Right click this option and uncheck the mark, logoff and logon to check same.

      Thanks

        Re: MSTSC Issue

Best practice dictates that you should not be using the Administrator account, each user should have their own administrative account. Thanks for sharing the workaround though.

          Hmmm interesting...
Cruachan, I agree with you that it's way better to have each admin his own administrative account. However I also can imagine that for some smaller companies this isn't very interesting to do. I know, it won't cost you anything though it might cost a bit to much procedures to do there job or their part time job Also in lab environments it can be a bit annoying

Anyhow @TS, Thanks for posting back!
