  • help setting up Server 2008r2 as extra DC that will later be moved and be primary DC

I have a small network with a 2003 R2 domain controller that does DHCP, WINS, DNS, Active Directory.
I also have a 2008 R1 that is a terminal server, and also does active directory and is a backup domain.

I need to setup another windows server (2008 R2). I'm not too familiar with Windows Servers (I'm a linux guy)
I need it to be a windows server to host some stuff.
The problem is, the company is expanding and dividing.
I need this new server to interact on the domain right now, but I will need to take it to a new building and have it be the primary domain controller.
I heard that I could have it have a different domain name, but shared (so no new profiles need to be created)

any hints before I get started?
    much appreciated

as backup domain means : you have 2 different domain names ?.. if so you can install an new domain controller and install AD on it with another different domain name and place trusts bewteen your old ones.

if you have one domain you can add the new domain controller to your existing domain and move FSMO roles to the new domain controller to be a primary DC.
