  • Adding 2008 R2 MEMBER Server to 2003 Domain

Is there anything I need to do to my 2003 domain to properly support a 2008 R2 member server.

I ask because I am getting a dcom error with HVremote when adding a user. It claims

Adding user to Distributed COM Users...
***** Failed to call net localgroup "Distributed COM Users" "photogra\dcohn" /add
***** System error 1789 has occurred.

The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.

I realize I need to check logs etc. but wanted to first see if I was missing something.

    Thank you

Normally this should not be a problem.. I would remove the member server from the domain. Delete the object from AD and then rejoin the server to the domain.

    bio..

There seems to be a intermittent communication issue on the domain. Maybe a bad switch maybe something more.

I ran the same hvremote command again and it properly added it to the dcom group. I also fixed my HyperV management issues.

      Thanks for the assistance.
