  • Need help help about Domain and Forest Functional Level.

    I want to install Windows Server 2008 as my 1st Domain controller in the organization.Durning Installation It ask for " Forest Functional Level " and "Domain Functional Level" . My planning for builting windows server in the organization is


    Primary Domain Controller Integrated with DNS = Windows server 2008

    Secondary rimary Domain Controller Integrated with DNS = Windows server 2008

    File Server = Windows Server 2008

    Internet Server= Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition .


    Keeping in view the combination of the above Microsoft server which server should I keep " Forest Functional Level " and wich as "Domain Functional Level".


    2- i want to know if there is already running windows server 2008 where is the option about (Functional Level ) information ?

        don't think he has one...

        I would suggest that, as long as you don't plan to use 2003 directory servers, then 2008 functional would be fine.

        be aware though, that you can't change it down !
