  • Remote App: Custom MS-Access with security file

    Hey guys,

Newbie to RemoteApp. Was thinking of trailing it for a rather old but critical Access app we run internally.

The app is currently lauched via a shortcut on the users desktop that refers to a security file. The shortcut is ...

    "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\MSACCESS.EXE" "C:\MyApps\MyApp.mdb" /wrkgrp "c:\MyApps\MyApp.mdw"

At the moment, each user has a copy of the Access .mdb file and the Security file (.mdw) on their local machine.

RemoteApp looks like a fantastic solution but do you think this is going to be possible. All the examples and videos I see show a simple app like 'notepad.exe' being "shared".

Let me know if you think this is possible.

    Thanks,

    S.S.

It might work, though I would try it out in a testenvironment...

If your application isn’t listed, you can click the Browse button to select an application or customize an existing one with execution switches. Click Finish to complete.
