  • 2003 domain preperation for Server2008 recommendations

    Hello all,

We are currently running Windows 2003 R2 at Win2k3 domain and forest functional level. We're finally dipping our feet into Server 2008 R2. Right now we are just adding a member server with DC's coming maybe 6-8months from now. Now i know just adding a member server does not require me to forest/ad prep, however my question is, is there any harm in doing an ad prep/forest prep now and then wait 6-8months before we add 2008 R2 DC's or wait until we are actually implementing 2008 R2 DC's to do the prep?

Also if anyone has encountered any issues with adding members servers running 2008 R2 to a 2003 domain? some heads up would be much appreciated.

edit: The member server will be just running IIS7 with ASP and ASP.NET

Thanks for your replies in advance,

    Jay

        Thanks Guys!

I had a feeling there shouldn't be any problems, but just wanted to confirm with the greater powers here
