  • Network Security question

I know it is possible to secure a network by setting up a NAP serve that requires pcs to have antivirus , spyware , windows updates and firewall enabled. My question is , is there a way to block a PC that comes on my network with some sort of virus, spyware or any other malware?

    Re: Network Security question

With NAP you can make sure that no others can access the network (or only to a "guest" network).
However NAP won't scan de machine for you, it simply assumes that the machine is OK when the AV installed and up-to-date, patches are up-to-date and if the firewall is up (or down)

If the machine doesn't match any of those criteria the client won't be able to access the network.
Also non domain members will not be able to access the corporate network unless you make a exception.

You might start reading from here about NAP
