  • Server 2008 and Quotas

We recently have started using Server 2008 as our Primary Server Platform. We have upgraded most of our File Servers to 2008 for the use of Quotas. Once the data was migrated we are now starting to implement these new Quotas. We have our company wide share drive with a 30GB quota, when mapped to a letter the users only see the mapped drive as having a total of 30GB, rather than the total size of the HDD on the server. I want to map user's home folders in this same fashion but I have having problems getting a nested share (D:\users\johndoe) to show up with the limited drive size. Is there a way I can tweak settings so each user's mapped home drive only shows the quota maximum??

    Thanks for the help,

    ~John

    Hi,

You may need to create quota templates.
Have a look at this tutorial for more info. http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...er-Quotas.html
Ignore tha fact that is for w2k3 r2 because FSRM is used in both.
Also have a look at this: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...11(WS.10).aspx
