  • Replacement for Veritas Replication Exec

Previously, we've used Veritas Replication Exec to create bit-level copies of our remote site's data drives to our main site for tape backups. Unfortunately, Rep Exec doesn't work with 64-bit or Windows 2008 so we need to do something different.

Would DFS-R work for these needs or will I need to look at Backup Exec CPS/DoubleTake/etc?

    Thanks

Re: Replacement for Veritas Replication Exec

You can use DFS-R if we are talking about data drives. Notice though that DFS-R is not bit-level (though it does replicate binary deltas) and will wait for an open file to get closed till it gets replicated.
