  • Applying Computer Settings

    Hello All
Both of my DC's running server 2008 are taking around 7 Mins to apply computer settings on boot up.
I do not have large GPO's to process and i cannot find out the reason why.
Client machines do not appear to have this problem.

    Do you have any reccomendations.

It did seem to start after i ran setup /preparead /ONomain_Name

    Please help!
    Thanks

    Re: Applying Computer Settings

    Update:
I have added Reverse lookup Zone to the DNS Sever (AD Intergrated)
This has fixed my second DC but my first still takes 7 mins to apply computer settings.

Do they look at each other for primary DNS?
Are the records good in DNS for them too?
      cheers

        Ahhh that helped

DC1 looks to itself for Primary and DC2 for Alternate DNS
DC2 looks to itself for Primary and DC1 for Alternate

        Is this best practice?

Yes, that's fine. Look to see if there is a policy anywhere that is trying to run a script to set something that no longer exists or doesn't exist on the DCs.
