  • [Internet Explorer] Browsing mapped network drives

I am having problems with browsing mapped network drives within Internet Explorer.

I have mapped a driverletter Z:\ to a folder \\Server\Data and for an example when i try to upload a file to my bank i get the following error:

    Z:\ not accessible.
Access to the network is denied.

    *Translated from dutch

I have found a site where we can test it, so you can see what error you get.

Anyone encoutered this problem before or could help me solve this stupid issue?

Browsing trough My Computer is working perfectly, but when i use Internet Explorer it goes wrong.

I almost said it was not related to the permissions, because browsing trough my computer does work. But when i tried running the Internet Explorer as an Administrator it does work and starting it normal as User1 i got the error.

      Share permissions
      User1 - full control
      Group1 - full control
      Domain Admins - full control

      NTFS permissions
CREATOR OWNER - non selected - special permissions is greyed out
      SYSTEM - full control
      User1 - full control
      Group1 - full control
      Domain Admins - full control

        Solved!

The problem is the setting of [b]Enable Secured mode" at Tools -> Options -> Security tab -> Internet icon.

When i disable this option and restart IE7, i now can open mapped network drives. Sjees stupid......

Glad you solved it and thanks for posting back.
Btw, it isn't really recommended to browse the internet from most servers unless it's a terminal server for example.
