  • Windows 2008 Active Directory?

If I run the 32 bit adprep and bring my schema version up to 44 for the domain is this all I need to run dcpromo on the WIndows 2008 64 bit domain controller?

I know it is good enough for a 32 bit server, but will I be able to run it on the 64 bit Windows 2008 standard to make it a domain controller?

    Think this should help.

I'm not the author but did a google search to find it.

You run adprep on an existing domain controller. Specifically, the schema master. You don't run it on the member server you want to make a domain controller.

You run the release of adprep that's appropriate for your schema master - 32-bit on 32-bit or 64-bit on 64-bit. It's not related to the edition of Windows on the new DC.
