Change Workgroup name in Server Core

    Hello,

I really appreciate all of Daniel's articles on configuring Win08 Server Core, but I may have missed something. I need to change the Workgroup name of my new headless server to match my other computers, but I can't figure out how to do that without the System control panel. I've combed Google and TechNet without success.

I would run dcpromo, but I don't really need a domain at the moment. Tools like netdom and netsh will work with Domains, but not workgroups, and nbtstat does not make changes to the system. I've even thought about copying the sysdm.cpl from another computer in deperation, but there's got to be a better way, right?

    Try this:
    Code:
Wmic computersystem where name="%computername%" call joindomainorworkgroup name="[new workgroup name]
