  • RDP issue with 2008 Core

    Hello -

I am unable to RDP into my 2008 Core server. I have confirmed the SCRegEdit.wsf /AR 0 is set.

The odd thing is that I could connect via RDP before I set this server as a DNS Role.

    Anybody have any ideas?

    Thanks
    MrC

Re: RDP issue with 2008 Core

Have you configure the firewall for remote administration?
You might retry configuring the firewall with:
    Code:
netsh advfirewall set currentprofile settings remotemanagement enable
    check this one out

    Or try re-running this:

Re: RDP issue with 2008 Core

      Thanks! That fixed it!

It turns out that only the public firewall setting was allowing Remote Desktop in - using the MMC / Remote Management Firewall Snap-In I allowed Domain, Private Inbound rules for RDP and can now take control.

      Thanks
