  • Windows Web server 2008 to workstation

I got a full Web server 2008 from MS for free and want to make a workstation out of 2008.

I allready made a workstation out of 2003. I know that 2008 is based on Vista.

If someone has a guide or something I would appriciate it. thx

How honorable of MS to do that.
Anyway, not sure if this applies to the Webserver version but a website dedicated to converting Windows 2008 to a workstation might be a good start.

I'm sure we've had this discussion before, but please keep the MS EULA in mind before tweaking the Server OS too much

Re: Windows Web server 2008 to workstation

Does I say that I can't make a workstation out of it?

MS Slovenija staff said that there are no limitations except that you can't sell it.

Re: Windows Web server 2008 to workstation

Well a Webserver is a Webserver so yes there are limitations.
So or you didn't understood MS Slovenia of they don't understand their own products.

Or you didn't told us something.
But, A server is not a desktop and personally I wouldn't even want to use a Server 2008 as my desktop. Rather go for vista then
