Maybe stupid question about this problem...

Recently we have bought 5 terminal Cals for windows server 2003. Now came out new version of server and the question is:

Are the windows server 2003 Cals compatible with new 2008 server ? On existing server 2003 (domain controller) I have installed terminal licensing server with those 5 terminal Cals. Will they work on new 2008 server ? That's very important information for me, because if they're not compatible I will stay with 2003 server installation with new hardware.

Or another situation, may I install terminal licensing server on windows 2008 server using recently purchased licenses for server 2003 ?

I didn't find any information about this problem on internet.

Can you confirm it for me ?

    thanx

    No.

    1. You can't use 2003 TS CALs for 2008 TS
    2. You can't use a 2003 TS License Server for a 2008 TS Server.

AFAIK licenses are never upscalable so if you bought a license for XP you can't use it for Vista either.
Unless you bought some insurance but I'm not sure if this also works for Terminal Services.
