  • Windows Server 2008 NAT problem

    Hello everyone,

Im new here so bear with me!

Im trying to set up a Windows Server 2008 VM to act as a NAT router in a private network..Here is the config of the router:

    Win2k8Router

    Nic #1 IP - 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0
    GW - none
    DNS - 192.168.1.150

    Nic #2 IP - 10.128.58.1 255.255.255.0
    GW - 10.128.58.1
    DNS - 10.128.8.21

Couple issues going on right now....1 is the Router does not get a response when pinging anything on the 192.168.1 segment.

None of the hosts on the 192.168.1 segment can get to the internet at all.

The router can ping outside addresses and can get out via browser.

I suspect maybe the route table isnt right, but im not good at figuring that out, this is what the route table looks like:

    Interface List
    12 ...00 0c 29 06 04 43 ...... VMware Accelerated AMD PCNet Adapter #2
    10 ...00 0c 29 06 04 39 ...... VMware Accelerated AMD PCNet Adapter
    1 ........................... Software Loopback Interface 1
    11 ...00 00 00 00 00 00 00 e0 isatap.{78F1A81D-557A-4A8C-9EE9-26F57FB53311}

I have RRAS installed on router as well, and maybe those settings are not right, but can someone tell me how to fix my route table so I can see the 192.168.1 segment?

in the NAT settings, I have NIC 1 set as the private nic, and NIC 2 as the public nic that does the Natting.

I can post any settings if anyone needs more information.

    Thanks!
